Reading a code is not fixing it.
Each control unit holds its own configuration. The work is finding the one that owns the behaviour and changing it correctly.
- BCM: body and comfort functions, locking, windows
- FEM: lighting, mirrors, exterior equipment
- KOMBI: instrument cluster, units, service indicators
- HU: head unit, media, connectivity and CarPlay
- DME: engine management identity and build data
The original configuration is saved first. Ask any workshop for that backup.
Every function sits on a wire.
Control units talk over a shared bus. That is why a replaced part can leave the light on: the new unit still describes a different car until its configuration is corrected.

New mirrors, cameras, lights or head units work once the build data lists them.
Feature activation
Hardware already there, function legal: usually switched on with no new parts.
Module replacement
A replacement unit is programmed to this car, or the fault just moves.

A change to the configuration data in the control modules: what equipment is fitted and how it behaves. Software, not hardware.
Which vehicles can be coded in Guyana?

Can a feature my car did not come with be enabled?
Sometimes. If the hardware is present and the function is legal to enable, it can usually be activated; if not, the hardware has to be fitted first.
Why does my warning light come back after a repair?

Yes, for BMW work, against the factory data files. Other marques and modules use other tools.
Can coding be undone?
Yes. The original configuration is saved before anything is changed, which makes every change reversible.

It is quoted once the vehicle and the change are confirmed. Jobs range from one value to programming a replacement module.
